Blackie Lawless Reflects on the W.A.S.P. US Tour and Prepares for Europe with New Dates and VIP Tix

Hollywood, CA (January 25, 2023) — W.A.S.P. wrapped up their first US tour in 10 years with a sold out show at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, this brings a total of 18 sold out shows for the US tour. The show features the return of Animal F**k Like a Beast, which hasn’t been played live in over 15 years. The tour was recently selected by Metal Edge as one of the 10 Best Hard Rock and Metal Tours of 2022, by Ultimate Classic Rock as one of the 22 Memorable Rock Tours of 2022, by BraveWords.com writers as Top Concert of 2022 and by the Detroit radio station WRIF as one of the Top Concerts of 2022.

The European leg of the 40th Anniversary World Tour begins March 17th with a sold out show in Manchester England. Five new shows have been added to the European tour, with new dates in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Slovenia and the Czech Republic. Because of fan demand, the VIP meet and greets with Blackie Lawless that the fans loved in the US will now also be offered on the European tour. VIP tickets can be purchased at http://waspnation.myshopify.com/

Tour dates and tickets for the 2023 European tour can be found at http://www.WASPnation.com/tour

Tickets previously purchased for the 2022 European tour that was rescheduled to 2023 are valid for the new dates. Contact your venue if you have any questions. Tickets for the new shows and VIP tickets will go on sale January 27th along with tickets for all the shows in Sweden that had been on hold due to a change in promoter.

Looking back at the US tour, Blackie Lawless said, “There have been a number of times in my life when I was caught between agony and ecstasy. Many times while either making a record that had great meaning for me or a tour that was truly memorable. But the U.S. Tour that we just finished has been a joy I’ve not felt since the first tour we did in 84’-85’. When that first tour was over I felt like a little kid that had his brand new toy taken away from him. When I got up on Elvis at the end of the last show finale, I stayed up on him longer than I normally do. I held that pose for what seemed like forever and in my mind it was a blur and I was flashing in my head all the shows we had just done and how desperately I wished this tour would just keep going and going. I’ve never wanted something not to end so badly before…even more than the first World Tour in 84’-85’.
I’ve been blessed with a good memory and as I was on Elvis I could see the faces of many of you that were at these shows. In a flash it flooded my head and I just wanted to stay up there.

When we played the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville a couple of weeks ago it had a profound effect on myself and the whole band. We knew we were standing on sacred ground. Where I was standing and singing was the exact spot where Loretta Lynn’s body had been lying at her funeral just a couple of weeks before. She was music royalty, she was true greatness….the Coal Miners Daughter.

That was an emotional night for us and from that moment on for the rest of the tour, we all kept talking about how we absolutely did not want this tour to end. In these shows we got an awful lot of love from all you guy’s and it was so heavy when we’d stand on stage it felt like we could cut it with a knife. Something truly special happened between all of you and us on this tour. More than I’ve ever felt before in my entire career.

Additionally, I must take a couple of minutes to address the Meet and Greets. I had never done these before. Especially not where I could have a real dialog with those who were there. In the course of the 30 plus gatherings I learned more about your true feelings than I’ve ever learned before. Someone might say I should have started doing them several years ago. If I did I don’t believe it would have had the same effect because the things I was hearing from you was an accumulation of years and years of you studying those lyrics and having the space to let them speak to you that only time can do. Time to let you really reflect on how it’s spoken to your lives. The looks on your faces when you spoke, was at times for me a frustration that is difficult to express, because mere words cannot paint the raw emotions I was feeling from many of you. And I’m supposed to be the writer here!

The European leg of the 40th Anniversary World Tour begins March 17th in Manchester England. Like most of the shows here in the U.S., Manchester now shares the two most beautiful words in show business, “Sold Out”.

Yes, we’re coming to hit you, we’re coming to hurt you…as this traveling Circus Insane Asylum Rolls On….and I CANNOT WAIT to start it all again

The EP contains seven new songs and two bonus tracks, including an adrenalized cover of Judas Priest’s British Steel smash hit, “Breaking the Law.”

We wanted to present this EP in a way that calls back to the glory days of classic Metal,” said COS guitarist Mick Michaels. “Since we had so much fun last year working on the Def Leppard songs, we knew the next time around, we wanted to do a Priest cover.  After seeing Priest’s Rock n Roll Hall of Fame induction performance and seeing K.K. with the band, we all knew this was the song to do.”

The EP’s first single, “Rockin’ the Night Away,” is now streaming at: https://youtu.be/IpeWGBCIcrw

We are excited to be going back to the UK,” said Michaels. We have unfinished business…there’s definitely a connection. The UK is where our style of Metal was born and it’s still fully embraced there.”

TEN RELEASES NEW ALBUM

TEN RELEASES NEW ALBUM“SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES”!
We are happy to announce that our brand new studio album “Something Wicked This Way Comes”, is officially out! You can listen to our latest singles “Look For The Rose” and “The Tidal Wave”, below! And you can order the album HERE: https://orcd.co/tenwicked  UK hard rock stalwarts TEN used the downtime during the worldwide pandemic to work on not one, but two new albums. The first album to be released, “Here Be Monsters”, landed on February 18, 2022 via Frontiers Music Srl. And now, the label is pleased to announce the second album of the two, “Something Wicked This Way Comes” on January 20, 2023. Following the success of the recent string of albums, from “Albion” to “Illuminati”, Hughes was joined once again by guitarists Dann Rosingana and Steve Grocott along with bass player Steve McKenna, keyboard maestro Darrel Treece-Birch and drummer Markus Kullman (Sinner, Glenn Hughes, Voodoo Circle) for the recording of “Something Wicked This Way Comes”. TEN continues to raise the musical bar higher for themselves, a goal they push on every release. Stunning guitar work, rich keyboards, excellent bass and drum interplay along with Hughes’ rich vocals are the order of the day here, as they were on this album’s immediate predecessor, “Here Be Monsters”.

“Something Wicked This Way Comes” was produced by Gary Hughes and mixed and mastered by Dennis Ward. TEN’s longstanding professional association with Dennis has been ongoing since he mixed their 2011 album, “Stormwarning” and has always guaranteed albums with stunning sound and production.

Fans should note that there are no ties between “Something Wicked This Way Comes” and “Here Be Monsters” or anything of this nature. The band simply crafted two high quality releases and decided to put them out separately, in a fashion not too dissimilar to what happened with their amazing first two records which were recorded one after the other in a very short period of time.

British hard rockers TEN have an outstanding history of releases in their storied and revered catalog. Starting out as a sort of solo project built around singer and songwriter Gary Hughes, TEN found their audience playing a hard rock sound influenced by such giants as UFO, Thin Lizzy, Magnum, Giant, and Whitesnake in a time when playing this particular sound was considered commericial suicide. The band’s early records such as “The Name Of The Rose”, “The Robe”, “Spellbound“, and “Babylon” established the band as mainstays in the melodic hard rock genre, which has continued throughout their now 26 year career over the course of 15 studio albums.

Jethro Tull announce 23rd studio album ‘RökFlöte’; launch first single ‘Ginnungagap’

Jethro Tull are pleased to announce their 23rd studio album, ‘RökFlöte’, which is set for release on the 21st April 2023 via InsideOutMusic. Following 2022’s ‘The Zealot Gene’, the band’s first album in two decades, Ian Anderson and the band are returning with a 12-track record based on the characters and roles of some of the principle gods of the old Norse paganism, and at the same time exploring the ‘RökFlöte’ – rock flute -which Jethro Tull has made iconic.

Today also sees the launch of the first single from the album, and you can watch the stunning animated video for ‘Ginnungagap’ (created by Costin Chioreanu) here: https://youtu.be/KoBAD-TRxYA

The track takes inspiration from the god Ymir, the proto-being, a primeval being, who was born from venom that dripped from the icy rivers called the Élivágar and lived in the grassless void of Ginnungagap.

‘RökFlöte’ will be available on several different formats, including two limited deluxe formats that include bonus demo material, extensive liner notes & a blu-ray featuring Dolby Atmos, 5.1 surround sound, alternative stereo mixes by Bruce Soord (The Pineapple Thief), as well as a bonus track and in-depth interview with Ian Anderson. The album will also be available digitally in the spatial audio formats Dolby Atmos & Sony 360 RA.

Ian explains the album’s title & theme in more detail: “The title of this offering went through a little change or two along the way. I started with the idea of a predominantly instrumental album for rock flute – as in rock music. When the subject material of the album presented itself, I was drawn to the term Ragnarök from Norse mythology – their version of apocalyptic end times or Biblical Armageddon. The “final showdown” scenario is ubiquitous and inherent in Hinduism, Christianity and Islam, for example. Ragnarök translates as “destiny of the Gods”, the rök part meaning destiny, course, direction. With umlaut firmly in place, courtesy of the Germanic origins of Old Norse, Flute became Flöte in keeping with the spelling. With me so far? I just can’t miss the glorious opportunity for a good and legitimate umlaut.”

Jethro Tull continue live dates this year, with shows in mainland Europe. Find the full list of shows here: https://jethrotull.com/tour-dates/

‘The Zealot Gene’, released in January 2022, was Jethro Tull’s 22nd studio album and it garnered critical acclaim across the board. Reaching #9 in the UK album charts, a feat the band hadn’t reached since 1972, it also debuted at #4 in Germany, #3 in Switzerland, #5 in Austria, #8 in Finland, as well as top 10 in the US Album Charts, Current Album Charts and Rock Album Charts.

With more than 30 albums to their credit and sales totaling more than 50 million, Jethro Tull are one of the most successful rock bands of all-time with a catalog that contains classics that still resonate today. Led by Ian Anderson, Tull still continue to tour throughout the world, entertaining audiences of all ages.

The band consists of:
Ian Anderson – Concert and Alto flutes, Flute d’Amour,
Irish whistle and vocals
David Goodier – Bass guitar
John O’Hara – Piano, keyboards and Hammond Organ
Scott Hammond – Drums.
Joe Parrish-James – Electric and acoustic guitars, mandolin

Lo Nero new song!

Hi,

It’s been a while. I hope this email finds you well.

After recovering from a 2-month illness of Covid, pneumonia, and viral infection, I wanted to reward myself by finishing and releasing a new song. The song is called “Left Field” and it’s a genre I’ve always wanted to do. Throughout my albums, I’ve recorded Latin and Classical, Blues and Folk, Hawaiian and Metal, and Country and Rock. But there was always one genre I never did. Finally, I can knock this genre off the list.

The main solo guitar (what I’m playing in the video below) was all improvised. After I recorded it I added piano. This song was a true labor of love. Fretless bass was played by Dave Reigert who some of you know played bass on my first solo album “Slather”.

Also, work is still happening on my solo album, “Friends of My Enemy” with guitar legend Tony MacAlpine producing and playing keyboards.

Thank you for listening and stay strapped to the grooved

Bill Lonero
