RAVAGE, the traditional heavy metal rockers from Boston, Massachusetts have released “Spider on the World”.

RAVAGE, the traditional heavy metal rockers from Boston, Massachusetts have released “Spider on the World“, the band’s first album of all-new material since 2009’s “The End Of Tomorrow” which was released by Metal Blade Records.

“Spider on the World” is available now on an extremely limited collector’s edition double vinyl and also through paid digital download and streaming on all platforms worldwide through the band’s own Thrash With Power Records label.

The new record was mixed and mastered by Peter Rutcho who is known for his work with Revocation, Havok, Cellador, and Danny Elfman amongst others. It features the band’s signature blend of traditional metal stylings which weaves together elements of melodic, heavy, speed, power and thrash metal music..

Cover and interior artworks for the record were created by the legendary Andreas Marschall, known for his work on classic records by Kreator, Blind Guardian, Sodom, Hammerfall and others.

Singer Al Ravage commented:

“It’s finally here. We’re very excited to share this new slate of very powerful metal music with everyone. This record has obviously been a very long time in the making and we’ve worked hard to make the release as special as possible.

We want to thank the great Andreas Marschall for creating two great artworks for us and Peter Rutcho for his great production work as always.

Musically, I think this contains our best work and it’s easily our best-sounding record. I don’t think there’s a bad song in the bunch, but we’ll let you be the judge. If you like throwback metal presented with a crisp, modern production with lots of ripping guitar leads, gripping riffs and in-your-face melodic hooks, check it out.

Biography

RAVAGE formed in Boston, Massachusetts, USA in the mid 90’s seeking to produce exciting, kick-ass music and offer an engaging live performance inspired by the classic metal heroes of yesteryear but with a fresh and modern edge. As many of the genre’s legacy acts begin to disappear, Ravage
continues on, offering a new voice for traditional metal. Ravage has always ignored passing trends to instead offer a sound that unquestionably falls within the bounds of heavy metal and thrash, while remaining uniquely distinguishable from any band that has preceded them.

Ravage’s latest release “Spider On The World” will follow in the same mold. The record has a crisp modern production courtesy of the band and metal productions master Pete Rutcho of Damage Studios who has mixed albums for Revocation, Danny Elfman, havok and others.

Ravage’s core line-up from the original recording remains intact with founding vocalist Al Ravage and his brother, guitarist Eli Firicano combining with long-time guitarist Nick Izzo. Al Ravage’s unique vocal stylings and the guitarist’s dual lead guitar assault are complimented by the crushing rhythm section of drummer Toni Belchior and bassist Tommy G.

Ravage has toured the United States and Europe, playing in 17 countries and 30 states. The band has appeared at international festivals including the Headbager’s Open Air, Magic Circle Festival, and Swordbrothers Festivals in Germany, Legions of Metal Fest, New Mexico Metalfest and True Metal America festivals in the United States.

It’s been 6 years since the last studio album “Revelation Highway” came out and the band has grown a lot since then. The live album that was released last year, ”Live Lightning” really super-charged the band to get back on their game and they really put a lot of time and effort into the album and it really paid off. The band had over 20 songs to choose from and they picked what they believe are the best 11 tracks to represent the band’s sound and direction.

You can pre-order the autographed CD bundle

Songs like the opening adrenaline rushed driving track, “Wrecking Machine”, the slow burn metal rocker “Pain”, and the atmospheric “Crashed Into The Sun”, really capture the bands diversity of musical tastes and the input of the band members contributions. While songs like “Face Of GOD”, “I Will Never Break Again” and “Sometimes Love Is Hell” are all great ballad musical arrangements and really have some interesting lyrical content and visual story telling that Vocalist/Songwriter Derek Davis has written for the listener. The big hook choruses the band is known for like the title track “Rome Wasn’t Built In A Day”, “White Hot Bullet and the very melodic track “Looking For A Heartbeat” reminisce their first album.

Derek Davis is really excited about the new record, “The fans are really gonna love the new Babylon A.D. album. You know what they say’ “Rome Wasn’t Built In A Day” and this album took some time but “man was it worth the wait! We got real lucky to have Grammy award winner David Donnelly ‘DNA Mastering’ to master the album, he’s done many top records we’ve all heard, ‘Motley Crue”, Chicago”, Aerosmith”, Slash” and a whole lot more bands we all know. This guy has got a great ear and knows his turf.”

Tom Mathers, Perris Records President shared his thoughts on the new album, “The new “Rome Wasn’t Built In A Day” studio CD is what the Babylon A.D. fans have been waiting for. It is like the band went back in time and captured the style and influence of their debut “Self titled” release on Arista Records. The opening track “Wrecking Machine” is a hard driving rocker & “Rome Wasn’t Built In A Day” has a HUGE killer chorus that you will be singing along with. This release guarantees every Babylon A.D. fan will not be disappointed.”

GEEZER BUTLER TO BE INTERVIEWED BY BRIAN POSEHN AT UPCOMING “FILLING THE VOID” EVENT

One of the most revealing metal autobiographies of recent times was certainly Geezer Butler’s popular ‘Into the Void.’ And many Colorado-based rockers are sure to flock to the Gothic Theatre on May 22, 2024 in Englewood, for a night of discussion with Black Sabbath’s legendary bassist, Geezer Butler, who will be joined by comedian Brian Posehn to discuss his book, life, and career – for an event being billed as ‘Filling the Void.’

In addition to the conversation between Brian and Geezer, Geezer will also be taking part in a Q&A with the audience and also signing attendees’ books, so feel free to bring your copy along. Tickets can be purchased for the event starting April 8th, via this link:
https://www.axs.com/events/540679/geezer-butler-brian-posehn-tickets

Concerning ‘Into the Void,’ countless esteemed publications praised it, including Mojo hailing it as “An epic odyssey of one of rock’s unlikeliest stars,” the Daily Express calling it “A gritty autobiography,” and the Financial Times adding it is “An entertaining memoir about decibels and debauchery on the road with Sabbath.” The book also came in at #2 on the London Times’ best seller list.

Geezer Butler served as Black Sabbath’s bassist for the majority of the years since their 1968 inception in Birmingham, England, as well as serving as the band’s chief lyricist – which in turn, played a major role in the creation of heavy metal. Additionally, his unmistakable bass playing served as an influence on such subsequent renowned four-string players as Metallica’s Cliff Burton, Pantera’s Rex Brown, and Type O Negative’s Peter Steele, among others.

As a writer/actor/stand-up comic, Brian Posehn has starred in multiple stand-up specials, and has appeared on the popular Disney Plus show The Mandalorian, the acclaimed Netflix show Lady Dynamite, FX’s You’re The Worst and in his recurring roles on The Big Bang Theory and New Girl. He was one of the stars of Comedy Central’s popular show, The Sarah Silverman Program. He has also appeared on such seminal sitcoms as Seinfeld, NewsRadio, Everybody Loves Raymond, Friends, The Neighborhood and a recurring role on Just Shoot Me.

And Geezer is very much looking forward to the event. “I can’t wait to see how the evening unfolds, as Brian is both incredibly funny and a super-passionate rock fan! It’s a rare opportunity for us to come face to face with fans and answer some of their burning questions!”

And on May 22, 2024 at the Gothic Theatre, the worlds of comedy and metal will collide in what will most certainly be an unforgettable night of laughs and storytelling, with ‘Filling the Void.’

THE RODS have released their new fan collaboration lyric video for the song “Metal Highways” from their latest album “Rattle The Cage”.

Drummer / Producer Carl Canedy comments:

“Once we began working on the concept for our next 2 videos, the video editor suggested, that for the first video, we reach out to the the fans and have them submit photos of themselves with the band, The Rods memorabilia, tattoos and footage of the band performing, etc”.

“The response was so overwhelming that we decided to use that concept for two separate videos. Our video editor is very creative and it really shows in the completed videos. To me, it’s reminiscent of watching the moving paintings in the Harry Potter movie. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but the many fans who participated are going to love it!”

“Rattle The Cage” produced by The Rods, and mixed / mastered by Chris Collier (Mick Mars, Whitesnake, Last in Line) was released by Massacre Records (Germany) on January 19, 2024.

“Rattle The Cage” features veteran members David “Rock” Feinstein (guitar/vocals), Carl Canedy (drums), and is the studio debut of Freddy Villano (bass/backing vocals).

In addition, Carl Canedy is scheduled to release his autobiography, “Tales of a Wild Dog“, on April 4, 2024.

The 300-page book, courtesy of New Haven Publishing, will also feature commentary from many artists, such as Joey Belladonna of Anthrax, Dan Beehler of Exciter, Jeff Plate of Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Dan Lilker of Nuclear Assault, Jeff Becerra of Possessed, James Rivera of Helstar, and many others.

TORONTO, CANADA (March 20, 2024) — BraveWords Records is excited to announce the signing of THE CHRIS SLADE TIMELINE. Look for THE CHRIS SLADE TIMELINE to release their first title for BraveWords Records in 2024. “Metal” Tim Henderson from BraveWords Records talking about the signing, “The legendary Chris Slade continues to leave us thunderstruck as he reinvents the rock world with a unique proggy orchestral vision of intense magnitude. To put it simply, the drummer still means business nearly 60 years into his remarkable music career.”

Chris Slade launched the band ‘THE CHRIS SLADE TIMELINE’ to mark 50+ years as a professional rock drummer. For this project, Slade took on phenomenal vocalists STEVE GLASSCOCK and PAUL “BUN” DAVIS with the added stunning musical techniques of guitarist JAMES CORNFORD and keyboard and guitar player MICHAEL J. CLARK with ANDY CROSBY on Bass you most certainly have a band to be reckoned with and worthy to mark Slade’s illustrious musical career.

This is a concept for Slade that will include performances from a varied set list from Tom Jones, Manfred Mann’s Earthband, Uriah Heep, The Firm, ASIA, MSG, David Gilmour, Gary Moore along with a fair degree of AC/DC numbers and many surprises to be unwrapped along the way.

“After all these years recording and playing with some of the world’s greatest rock musicians such as Tom Jones, Manfred Mann’s Earthband, Gary Moore, Gary Numan, Denny Laine, Jimmy Page, Paul Rodgers, David Gilmour, Uriah Heep, Asia and of course AC/DC, I am delighted to join BraveWords Records headed up by my old associate Brian Adams to release our new THE CHRIS SLADE TIMELINE album of completely original new tracks and some of our favourite covers. I hope you will listen to and enjoy this latest offering of new music to all fans of TIMELINE and all fans from my past musical career.” – CHRIS SLADE

About Chris Slade:

Chris Slade was a founding member of Manfred Mann’s Earth Band in January of 1971. He was to spend seven years with the band, recording eight albums and achieving three UK Top Ten singles in the process: ”Joybringer’ (No. 9, October 1973), ‘Blinded By The Light’ (No. 6, September 1976 & a multi million selling #1 in the USA) and ‘Davy’s On The Road Again’ (No.6, June 1978).

He later teamed up with Jimmy Page, Paul Rodgers and bassist Tony Franklin to form “The Firm” at the end of 1984. The Firm, produced two excellent albums for Atlantic in 1985 and 1986 that gave them a few radio hits including “Radioactive” and “Satisfaction Guaranteed.”

Then Chris joined up with Gary Moore on a temporary basis, taking over from Cozy Powell just four days before the start of the 1989 ‘After The War’ tour. It was at one of Gary Moore’s gigs in The UK that Malcolm Young saw Chris Slade play. After the tour it was Chris’s intention to put together a band with ex-Aerosmith guitarist Rick Dufay. But the call from AC/DC scuppered those plans as he was destined to tour and record with them over the course of the next five years, playing on their acclaimed “Razors Edge” Album, and giving a killer performance on their concert DVD “Live from Donington”.

After his stint with AC/DC Chris joined up with 80’s prog-rock band “Asia”, who (even with the many personnel changes over the years) had still been managing to churn out some excellent music. Chris recorded with them on their 2000-2004 studio recordings, “Aura” and “Silent Nation”, and put forth his “trademark” energy-filled live performances on all the subsequent tours that ensued.

This will be the first of hopefully many more European-like festivals that the band will throw annually at the UC Theater in Berkeley. An amazing venue with a 1,400 capacity, excellent sound, stage & lights.

The idea is they get to hand pick the bands they play with every year covering multiple genres of heavy music. This year they have BIOHAZARD co-headlining with FORBIDDEN. BIOHAZARD’s first gig back in the Bay in 30 years!

Each year moving forward the band will select national acts as well as a few strong up and coming local bands. A genre blend creating a more European style of eclectic talent.

OmegAfest will be FORBIDDEN’s ONLY Bay Area appearance of 2024.

About Forbidden

Originally founded in 1985 as Forbidden Evil by singer Russ Anderson, guitarists Craig Locicero & Robb Flynn, basses John Tegio and drummer Jim Pittman, the quintet started playing house parties and Bay Area clubs such as the Legendary Ruthie’s Inn soon after.

After a couple of lineup changes (Paul Bostaph / drums & Matt Camacho / bass) in ’86, the band quickly rose through the ranks of Bay Area Thrash to gain a massive following and worldwide notoriety.

In 1986, the band added Glen Alvelais as the second guitarist. It was this lineup that cemented itself into the Bay Area scene and soon after recorded 1988 release ‘Forbidden Evil’ for Combat Records changing the band’s name to simply Forbidden.

In May of ’89 while on a European tour with Sacred Reich, Forbidden played their first appearance at the Legendary Dynamo Open Air in Eindhoven, Netherlands. It was here that Forbidden made their European mark and recorded the Raw Evil EP.

The band returned Stateside and replaced Alvelais with Tim Calvert. Calvert was a missing ingredient that brought the band closer together asa team. They continued to tour the U.S. first with Exodus and then again with Sacred Reich with Calvert on second guitar.

The band went on to release Twisted Into Form in 1990, Distortion in 1994 and Green in 1996 however the band having gone though many lineup changes disbanded in 1997.

In 2008 Craig being inspired at a screening of the movie Get Thrashed, called the other members of the band and suggested getting back on stage to see if they could reignite the Forbidden machine. With Anderson, Locicero, Camacho back in the mix along with new additions Glen Alvelais and Gene Hoglan they played two sold out Death Angel shows in San Francisco.

Steve Smyth came into the mix in place of Alvelais and Mark Hernandez took Hoglan’s place, the band then released Omega Wave, the 5th in the catalog and went on a US tour with Overkill. European festivals were next but afterwards Hernandez had to walk away due to personal reasons leading to a tour cancelation.

Sasha Horn was the answer to fill the drummer’s spot.

After playing Bonded By Baloff with Exodus and one Bay Area show, Forbidden embarked for Chile to play the Metal Fest in Santiago. It was on this flight back home that Russ informed the band that he couldn’t tour anymore because of the physical toll it was taking on him. With that, the band dissolved once again for 11 years.

Fast forward to 2023. The once improbable and impossible happened. Forbidden is reforming with new blood! Locicero, Camacho & Smyth remain from the Omega Wave lineup.

New vocalist Norman Skinner will take the elite position that belonged to Russ Anderson. Norman shocked everyone who witnessed his performance of Chalice of Blood with LA thrashers Warbringer accompanying him as the band. It was undeniable to all in attendance. Norman grew up in the Bay Area. His first thrash metal show was seeing Forbidden at the Omni. Russ would point to Norman at shows and call him
“Little Russ” on the mic. It could ONLY be Norman Skinner that stands aside the band.

The Bay Area thrash / punk drum Legend Chris Kontos takes over the drum throne. In a long line of world renown drummers, Kontos is the most logical & qualified man for the job. Bostaph, Jacobs, Hoglan, Hernandez, Horn… World class talents. Now Kontos.
